PSTAKE Liquid Staking Deprecation Update

Summary

PSTAKE Finance has deprecated its liquid staking services across Cosmos-based tokens (e.g. stkATOM, stkOSMO, stkHUAHUA, stkDYDX), Binance Smart Chain (BNB), and its Bitcoin staking suite (including YBTC-based offerings).

The Cosmos deprecation began with governance‑approved unbonding in February–March 2025 and user-led claims via the pSTAKE app. Bitcoin and BNB staking was officially retired in early July 2025, with BTC and BNB unstaked and refunded. This shift marks a strategic departure from PoS liquid staking toward frontier AI Web3 research and innovation (pSTAKE blog).

Importance of Deprecation Deadline: 30 September 2025

This is a firm cutoff for all Cosmos and Bitcoin staking claims. After this date, the protocol will not process refunds or claims and unclaimed assets may become unrecoverable.

Staking rewards have since been ceased since the deprecation process started. Delaying your claim risks lost yield and operational complications.

Early action ensures full control of your funds before support ends.

User Action

Users are urged to get their funds back as early as possible before the 30 Sep 2025 deadline. In case of any issues or support, please message in the PSTAKE Telegram chat.

Cosmos Users

  1. Use a Cosmos-compatible wallet (e.g. Keplr) and connect to the pSTAKE app.
  2. Navigate to the Claim section. Choose to claim tokens individually or all at once, and approve wallet transactions. This returns your underlying assets and burns the stk-token equivalents.
  3. If stkAssets are locked in DeFi (LPs, farms), unstake those first before claiming.

BNB Users

  1. Remove any stkBNB liquidity from Thena DEX
  2. Claim your funds back from the PSTAKE app. All unstaked BNB assets will be sent back to user wallets before the 30 Sep 2025 deadline

Bitcoin Users

  1. Ensure you have received your staked BTC funds back already. If issues arise, contact support on pSTAKE Telegram promptly.
  2. Link your BTC wallet and Babylon address to your pSTAKE account to receive refunds and any pending staking yields or $BABY airdrops.

What’s Next?

With staking products deprecated, PSTAKE is pivoting toward innovation in AIFI (DeFi with AI). On July 4, 2025, it launched a dedicated Research Division to explore frontier Web3 technologies—such as AI, FHE (Fully Homomorphic Encryption), Real‑World Assets, and abstract accounts (blog link).

This move signals a strategic shift: from product execution to early-stage research and ecosystem shaping. The goal is to inform governance, develop prototypes, and stay ahead of Web3’s evolving edge.
